Strategies

Moving people out of poverty requires a portfolio of several different
strategies. Further, progress can be made when these strategies are part
of a single organization. In the past, our agency viewed itself as a social
service organization. Today, it is an organization utilizing four distinct,
yet connected, strategies that help people out of poverty.

Neighborhood
& Family Services

Ending poverty is about social service provision to meet individual and
family needs directly.

Community Employment & Economic Development

Ending poverty is about the economy in general and its efficacy for low
income, core city people.

Pillsbury
House Theatre

Ending poverty is about giving voice to people’s hopes, aspirations and
frustrations. It is about celebrating culture and preserving ethnic tradition
and history.

Community Building Initiatives

Ending poverty is about building community, creating a stronger, connected
infrastructure of grass roots organizations and initiatives.
